THE CONTRACT
DON'T BE FOOLED .... ALL alarm companies have some form of contract for a monitored package that can QUALIFY for an
INSURANCE DISCOUNT. NO ONE is going to install equipment at your home or business for FREE! Sales agreements are structured
with two options, PAY NOW or PAY LATER.
PAY NOW means simply pay for your system IN FULL at time of install and enter into some form of agreement, typically 1 year, for
professional monitoring OR PAY LATER (as you go) by entering into a FINANCE AGREEMENT that bundles your hardware and
monitoring into ONE MONTHLY PAYMENT for a 36, 48, or 60 month term.

If you already have alarm system and your are looking to switch to providers BE VERY CAREFUL of the BUYOUT PITCH!
An EXISTING MONTHLY CONTRACT will always have some form of payout if you wish to terminate early. Typically this is BALANCE OF PAYMENTS, meaning whatever term is left must be PAID IN FULL before you are released from the contract.
ANY BUYOUT OPTION will simply take your amount owing from your EXISTING CONTRACT and ROLL that amount into
your NEW CONTRACT! Sometimes this will not change your monthly payment but your NEW PURCHASE CONTRACT may mean
a longer payback term AND you ARE STILL LOCKED IN with the same type of termination clause as the contract you just exited!

LOCKED or UNLOCKED SYSTEM
If you choose to PAY NOW you have the option of your system being UNLOCKED and ready to be monitored and serviced by any security company. Hopefully you will choose the company you purchased the equipment from and enter in an agreement for monitoring services that can include multi-function control of your system via
smart phone, tablet or PC.
A PAY LATER agreement will keep the system LOCKED until the equipment is PAID IN FULL. Once the finance agreement is completed a reputable dealer should unlock your equipment. HOPEFULLY a long term relationship has been established and you continue to have your equipment serviced and monitored with the original installing company.
MONITORED PROFESSIONALLY - YES or NO
When an emergency strikes, everyone needs help. It doesn't matter how brave or capable or dedicated you are. In a fire or break-in at your home, a monitored system sends an emergency signal, via dedicated cellular connection, to a monitoring station staffed 24/7 with trained security professionals. They'll quickly assess the situation and alert your local law enforcement or fire department. These monitored alarms can include smoke, water, power failure, video alerts, door open reminders, hi or low heat, and personal/staff duress alarms. Many options are available for a PROFESSIONALLY MONITORED system and can be tailored to fit your budget.
If you choose NO to professional monitoring you can still choose to receive alerts from your system via your smart phone, tablet or PC BUT you will not qualify for any insurance discounts and in EMERGENCY situations law enforcement or the fire department will not be notified. Its important to assess your need and choose the correct option for your home or business.
